This is an example of the image taken with the Optomap.

In this image we can see a 200 degree sweep of the retina, that’s approximately 90% of the retina. A fundus camera sees around 50%, and during a routine eye examination the optician sees around 30%. Therefore the Optomap is the best form of retinal health check available. If there was a problem with the retina in the periphery, where the earliest signs of conditions often occur, there is far more chance of it being detected during an Optomap examination than with any other conventional method.
